Our members
About three-quarters of the Society’s members are professional and one-quarter are amateur entomologists. Three State Societies—The Entomological Society of Queensland, The Entomological Society of New South Wales, and the Entomological Society of Victoria—are Affiliates of the AES. Business firms have membership as Sustaining Associates.
Society membership was 285 on 17 August 1965 and 331 at the end of 1966 when foundation membership closed. Currently the Society is over 500 strong, making it one of the largest biological sciences groups in Australia.
The details
Membership of the Society is open to any person interested in the study of insects and related groups, upon nomination by two financial members.
Companies are especially invited to become Sustaining Associates of the Society.
Membership is annual, from July through June, with payments due 1st July.
