Rowan Emberson, a Fellow of the New Zealand Entomological Society died last weekend (7/8 October). He will be greatly missed by colleagues in both NZ and Australia.
Rowan first joined Lincoln College as a lecturer in 1968, and has been associated with the university ever since. He has been living with bowel cancer for the last four years, but managing to get lots done nevertheless. It caught up with him in July, when the chemotherapy treatment ceased working, but he still managed a two-week camping trip to the United States in August/September. He was in Punakaiki for the weekend to re-visit old haunts just two weeks before he died.
