Mission: Recognising that invertebrates represent the vast majority of biodiversity, and are important contributors to disciplines as diverse as forensic science, agriculture, biosecurity, biocontrol and ecological restoration, the Australian Entomological Society, through its Education Committee, promotes and facilitates the education of entomology within Australia.
The committee provides advice on all matters that relate to entomological education in Australia. The main focus is on tertiary-level study, including both undergraduate and postgraduate education, although contributions may be made at the secondary level to encourage more school leavers to pursue a career in fields related to entomology.
The Committee has been closely associated with the Entomology Curriculum Australia (ECA) whose aim is to promote tertiary-level entomological education in Australia using a collaborative approach among teaching institutions.
The Committee reports to the Society Executive.
